Madina MP wins 2024 outstanding political personality of the Year Award
The National Golden Excellence Awards have declared Francis-Xavier Sosu, the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Madina Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, the Outstanding Political Personality of the Year.
Francis-Xavier Sosu has made countless contributions to the growth of both his constituency and the country as a whole, and his efforts have been recognized with this award, according to the organizers.
The occasion happened on Saturday, May 4, 2024, in Accra.
Since becoming a member of parliament, Mr. Francis-Xavier Sosu, who now serves as the Deputy Ranking Member of the Constitutional, Legal, and Parliamentary Affairs Committee, has created the Madina Job Center, which has had an impact on more than 7000 individuals.
His Health Project also provides mechanized boreholes to benefit thousands of youngsters in his constituency, in addition to doing recurring health outreach programs.

In the last three years, the MP has also supported seventeen private member’s legislation, three of which have become law and one of which has received presidential assent.
His initiative in parliament resulted in the death sentence being abolished under the Criminal Offenses Act, the Death sentence being abolished under the Armed Forces Laws, and the criminalization of allegations of witchcraft.
Francis-Xavier Sosu sponsored bills, among other things, to remove taxes on sanitary pads, amend the General Legal Council and Legal Education, extend maternity leave and introduce paternity leave, provide compensation for people who have been wrongfully arrested, detained, and found guilty, and provide care for children with cancer and tumors.
In addition, Lawyer Sosu established the UPSA Best Teacher Award (Human Rights Category), the Best Teacher Awards for educators in the Madina Constituency, and a number of training initiatives to increase the capacity of constituents. These initiatives include modules on mushroom farming, graphic design and website development, and beauty artistry, among other subjects.
Again, the Madina MP established the Sosu Health Fund, carried out other medical outreach programs, and donated to local medical facilities.
Along with overseeing the reconstruction of the Baba Yara School Bridge, the MP also started the Islamic Project to aid in the growth of the Muslim community and the Islamic community in the Madina Constituency.
The organizers of the awards selected him as the Outstanding Political Personality for the year 2024 based on all of the aforementioned factors.
The MP acknowledged receiving the award and expressed gratitude to the organizers for the honor bestowed upon him.

He pointed out that in a world where politics can sometimes be divisive, saying that “I believe in the power of unity and collaboration. Together, we have achieved milestones, overcome challenges, and worked towards a better future for Madina, Ghana, and beyond.
