Finance Minister to Present Mid-Year Budget Review to Parliament on July 23
The Honourable Speaker of Parliament, together with the Business Committee, has announced that the Finance Minister, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, will present the Mid-Year Budget Review for the 2024 Financial Year to Parliament on Tuesday, July 23.
This highly anticipated presentation will provide an update on the implementation of the 2024 Budget and offer insights into the economic and fiscal performance of the country for the first half of the year.

In his Business Statement for the week ending Friday, July 19, Majority Chief Whip, Mr. Frank Annoh-Dompreh, notified Honourable Members of Parliament of the scheduled presentation.
He also informed the House that the Business Committee had scheduled sittings on Mondays, starting from July 15, to complement the extended sittings which began this week.
Also, a Committee of the Whole meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, July 16, during which discussions with the Administrator of the District Assemblies’ Common Fund and the Minister of State at the Ministry of Finance will take place.
The presentation by the Finance Minister is expected to be a critical moment in Parliament’s consideration of the country’s financial performance in 2024.
The review will provide an opportunity for MPs to engage with the minister and gain a deeper understanding of the government’s economic policies and strategies.
In other news, several ministers are scheduled to appear before Parliament to brief Honourable Members on ongoing strike actions by lecturers at Colleges of Education and Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG).
The Minister of Education and Minister of Employment and Labour Relations will respond to questions from MPs on these matters.
Ten ministers are expected to attend and respond to 66 questions, including six urgent questions and 60 oral questions.
The ministers scheduled to appear include those from key ministries such as Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development; Energy; Gender, Children and Social Protection; Roads and Highways; Transport; Employment and Labour Relations; Trade and Industry; Attorney General and Minister of Justice; and Fisheries and Aquaculture Development.
