Falz denies Bobrisky romance claims and sues VeryDarkMan for defamation
Nigerian rapper and actor Folarin Falana, better known as Falz, has strongly refuted rumors linking him romantically with controversial crossdresser Bobrisky. The claims emerged after social commentator VeryDarkMan (VDM) released what he described as a private phone call between the two, recorded while Bobrisky was in custody.
The audio stirred speculation across social media, leading many to question the nature of Falz’s relationship with Bobrisky. Falz, however, made it clear there was no personal or romantic connection.
According to the artist, Bobrisky contacted him on Instagram, seeking legal assistance, a common occurrence given Falz’s background in law. “I never had any prior relationship with Bobrisky. He messaged me and I tried to help, just as I’ve done with many others. Unfortunately, this one got twisted into something it wasn’t,” Falz said.
He stressed that his involvement was solely out of empathy and that their conversation had no romantic or sexual context. While the situation has made him more cautious about offering help to others, Falz said he would not stop being compassionate toward those who genuinely need support.
In response to the damaging rumors, Falz has initiated legal proceedings against VDM. During an interview on Arise TV, he confirmed that he and his father, respected human rights lawyer Femi Falana, filed a defamation lawsuit against the social commentator.
Despite the suit being filed, VDM has yet to respond to the core allegations. Instead, he initially challenged the court’s jurisdiction which Falz revealed, has been dismissed. “The court has thrown out the preliminary objection. Now they must either enter a defense or the court will proceed to rule on the case,” Falz explained.
The case is ongoing, but Falz’s stance is clear; he intends to protect his name and reputation from what he calls a misrepresentation of his intentions.
