Energy Minister Inspects 912KWp Solar Power Under Construction at Jubilee House

During H.E President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s 2019 state of the Nation’s address,The President reiterated that the seat of government (Jubilee House) will be connected to solar power and the ministry of energy is working assiduously to achieve this in record time.
The scope of work the Solar power project includes the installation of solar PV panels with all supporting infrastructure and all the PV panels required for the installation have been delivered to the project site. So far the contractor has done about 100 kWp of the solar panels whiles work on the remaining 812 KWp is also in the pipeline.
Upon completion, the project is expected to supply 60 percent of the power being consumed at the presidency.
Following today’s inspection, I wish to commend the project contractor; Strategic Security System Limited (SSS), a wholly Ghanaian owned Solar power company for work done thus far. As part of government’s vision to include renewable energy into our energy mix; We are working towards achieving a target of ten percent (10%) as a proportion of our energy mix within 2020. The benefits of this project is enormous and a worthy example to emulate across the country.
