Dr Mahammadu Bawumia Embarks on 3-Day Campaign Tour of Ashanti Region
As the 2024 general elections draw near, the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Dr Mahammadu Bawumia, has set out to kick off his campaign tour of the Ashanti Region.
This tour is expected to last for three days, starting from today, Monday, June 10, 2024.
The Vice President, who is also the 2024 flagbearer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), will be meeting with various stakeholders in the region, including party executives, government appointees, members of parliament, and traditional leaders.
According to sources, there are rumors that Dr Bawumia might declare his running mate from the Ashanti Region during this 3-day campaign tour.
The first day of Dr Bawumia’s campaign tour is packed with a series of meetings.

He will begin by meeting with the Ashanti regional executives of the party, government appointees, members of parliament, parliamentary candidates, the regional council of elders, and other stakeholders at the True Vine Hotel.
Later in the morning, Dr Bawumia will pay a visit to the Ashanti Regional House of Chiefs secretariat in Kumasi, where he will present his vision to all paramount chiefs and queen mothers. This is a significant event, as it is expected to set the tone for his campaign in the region.
Following his meeting with traditional leaders, Dr Bawumia will meet with the clergy at McKeown Temple before meeting Muslim leaders in the afternoon at the Kumasi Central Mosque. He will also meet with traders at the Kumasi Central Market later in the afternoon.
With Dr. Bawumia 3-day campaign tour, he will end today with a meeting with various professional bodies, including the Ghana Medical Association, Ghana Bar Association, Ghana Journalists Association, University Teachers Association of Ghana, Ghana National Association of Teachers, National Association of Graduate Teachers, Coalition of Concerned Teachers, Ghana Institute of Architects, Ghana Institute of Engineers, Ghana Institute of Surveyors, Ghana Association of Society of Medical Physics, Nurses and Midwifery Association, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ghana, and the Ghana Institute of Planning.
The Ashanti Region is a crucial stronghold for the NPP, and Dr Bawumia’s campaign tour is expected to be highly successful. With his strong reputation as a economic expert and a respected leader within the party, Dr Bawumia is likely to receive a warm welcome from the people of Ashanti.
As Dr Bawumia embarks on this 3-day tour, it is clear that he is not taking anything for granted. With his campaign manifesto yet to be launched, he is seeking to connect with the people of Ashanti and build a strong foundation for his campaign.
