The Dollar to cedi exchange rate for 16th January is out. The Dollar has been appreciating since 23rd December 2023.
On 16th December the cedi rate was pegged at GHS8.95 per $1 and today, a $1 is pegged at GHS11.96 by Google. Forex Bureaus like Afriswap in Accra are selling a dollar for GHS13.20.
The Dollar started its recovery against the cedi just at the end of the festive season and it has been on the ascendancy. Currently the cedi is depreciating while the dollar has established its position of dominant power and influence.

Aa at Sunday, 15th January, the dollar had crossed the buying rate of GHS11.00 and a selling rate of GHS13.00 in Forex bureaus. Banks were trading $1 for between GHS10.00 and GHS11.50 (Buying price) and between GHS12.00 and GHS13.00 (Selling Price)
