Deal expeditiously with homicides -Human Rights Reporters told Ghana Police Service

The Human Rights Reporters Ghana (HRRG) has expressed shock over the brutal incident of alleged shooting and killing of Mr Akwasi Banahene, a successful and respected business by unknown assailants in his residence.
Mr Banahene until his untimely demise on Friday, August 21 was a Businessman and a resident of Mim in the Asunafo North Constituency of the Ahafo Region.
In a press statement signed by the Executive Director of Human Rights Reporters Ghana (HRRG), Joseph Kobla Wemakor and copied to the press condemned the brutish act of the perpetrators of the dastard act and obligated the Ghana Police to initiate a probe into matter, prosecute the perpetrators and have them brought to book to ensure justice is served duly.
” We condemn the barbaric act of the murderers in no uncertain terms and called on the Ghana Police Service to respond swiftly with a probe into the matter, arrest and prosecute the perpetrators and ensure justice is served and they are made to face the full rigorous of the law to serve as a deterrent to others”.
“While commiserating with the bereaved family, we equally expressed concern at the growing state of insecurity in the country in recent times and again appealed to the Police force to step up their efforts to fight crime and protect lives especially in the run-up to the upcoming general polls slated for December 7”, the statement further said.
He further called on the Ghana Police Service and its high ranking officials to intensify efforts in combating crime and insecurities in the country as the December General Elections draws nigh.
