COVID-19 Infected Guinean escapes from the quarantine facility is the latest developing story as Ghana battled to avoid the spread of the disease. The Guinean escaped at the facility in Tamale according to sources.

She is one of the eight Guineans who tested positive for the novel coronavirus after entering the country illegally in the group of others.
One of the Guineans who tested positive for COVID-19 in Tamale has escaped. The young lady, who authorities say is in her early 20s allegedly scaled the wall at the back of the hotel where she and nine others were being held in mandatory quarantined. “At midnight when everybody was asleep she scaled the wall and escaped leaving her belongings, including a mobile phone,” Northern Regional Minister, Salifu Saeed told JoyNews. He added that security personnel have launched a manhunt for her.
The COVID-19 Infected Guinean escape has come as a shock to many and Ghanaians are asking what security measures have been put in place at all health facilities and quarantine centers to foil such attempts.

Meanwhile, The Northern Regional Minister, Salifu Saeed, has revealed that the patient scaled over a wall leaving behind her belongings on Monday. However, the security services are on a manhunt for the patient.
“Since yesterday, up till this morning, I have not slept with my security people,” Mr. Saeed told the media.

Unconfirmed reports indicate the patient has been seen in a community near Kumbungu. Per a Citi News report, community members have arrested a man suspected to the COVID-19 Infected Guinean who escaped from the quarantine facility in Tamale.

As of 30th March 2020, at 08:30 hrs, the Ghana Health Service has not reported new cases of COVID-19 29th March 2020. Recovered & Discharged: two (2) have recovered and discharged; whilst two others are awaiting laboratory results to inform decision on discharge.
