COVID-19 Electricity Relief: Ghanaians Start Enjoying Free to 50% Electricity Intervention

Ghanaians have started enjoying free and up to 50% electricity intervention promised by the Akuffo Addo led government. For those who made purchases today. The COVID-19 Electricity Relief has reflected on their bills. This relief will be enjoyed by all Ghanaians for the next three months.
In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, calls by citizens for the government to reduce the cost of electricity increased hours after the government promised three months of free water supply to Ghanaians. Former President John Dramani of the NDC also added his voice to the call for the government to provide some form of relief to Ghanaians on water and electricity.
Today, some residents who have made purchases are seeing the COVID-19 Relief reflect on their receipts as promised by the ECG. In the wake of the announcement by the government, the ECG informed consumers that, due to its system for billing, the relief announced by the president would take effect from the month of May. the ECG added that COVID-19 Electricity Relief for April will reflect in May, that of May in June and June in July.
