Catholic priest cautions christian women against indecent dressing
Tamale, Feb. 26, A priest of the Catholic Archdiocese of Tamale at St. Theresa Roman Catholic Church, Reverend Father Joseph Sackey has cautioned christian women against the practice of indecent and provocative dressing which according to him conform to the standards of the society they live in but rather embrace the teachings of the Bible and endeavor to always implore it ways of decent and decorous dressing which is deemed pleasing in the sight of the almighty God.
He averred that the Bible unequivocally declared that Jesus Christ must be revealed in the way Christian women dress in public gatherings.
Reverend Father Sackey made the appeal while delivering a sermon at a Sunday morning church held in Tamale on February 26, 2023.
He said women should not take pride in wearing jewelry and accessories but instead, they should be proud of the good deeds they have achieved as Christians.
According to him, looking good doesn’t mean showing off skin that a Christians women’s shouldn’t do in both Church and public places.
Reverend Father Sackey stated that Christian women beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes.
“Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight”.
He said God wants women to clothe themselves with good works and not expensive clothes which are material in nature that the holy women of the past who put their hope in God used to make themselves beautiful.
