BECE candidates to enjoy one hot meal a day – Nana Akufo Addo

The President of Ghana has indicated that government has resolved to provide one hot meal a day in school. According to the President during his 15th National Address since the first COVID-19 case was recorded, the decision was necessitated by information emanating from schools that students are going hungry due to the COVID-19 restrictions for JHS3 students.
The president’s new directive would benefit both students in public and private schools across the country.
“As a result of the reports I have received recently that some final year JHS students were going hungry, in complying with COVID-19 protocols, I have just instructed the Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection to begin preparations to ensure that , as from 24th August up to 18th September, all five hundred and eighty-four thousand (584,000) final year students and forty-six thousand (146,000) staff, both in pubic and private schools, will be given one hot meal a day.” : The President said.
