Bawumia is a liar, google it and see – Osofo Kyiri Abosom
The leader of the Ghana Union Movement (GUM), Christian Kwabena Andrews, popularly known as Osofo Kyiri Abosom, has leveled serious accusations against the Vice-President of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
In a recent interview on the Class Morning Show with Kwame Dwomoh-Agyemang, Osofo Kyiri Abosom branded the Vice-President as a dishonest figure, questioning his integrity and effectiveness as a leader, particularly criticizing his economic policies.
Osofo Kyiri Abosom expressed disappointment in Dr. Bawumia’s failure to transition the country from a taxation-heavy system to one focused on production, a promise that was central to Bawumia’s agenda.
The GUM leader argues that instead of reducing the tax burden, the current administration has only increased it, thereby exacerbating the economic pressures on ordinary Ghanaians.
This contradiction, according to Osofo Kyiri Abosom, not only questions the Vice-President’s claim to being an ‘Economic Guru’ but also reflects a broader issue of unfulfilled promises by the government.
During the interview, he starkly criticized the Vice-President, suggesting that if one were to search for “the liar in the country” on Google, Dr. Bawumia’s name would prominently appear.
He underscored this claim by referencing a public contradiction where Kennedy Agyapong, a notable figure within the same political party as the Vice-President, praised Dr. Bawumia as the best Vice-President the country has had, only to later criticize him heavily when he pursued the party’s flagbearership.
The GUM leader’s critique extends beyond the Vice-President to the entire administration, accusing them of deceiving the public and prioritizing their own interests over those of the nation, particularly the youth.
Osofo Kyiri Abosom argues that the leaders have failed to consider the long-term needs of the younger generations, focusing instead on short-term gains and personal accumulation.
In contrast to the current administration, Osofo Kyiri Abosom emphasized the GUM party’s commitment to the national motto, “Ghana can do.” He elaborated on the party’s vision to harness the country’s resources effectively and foster development across all sectors.
The GUM party, under his leadership, promises to adopt policies that genuinely prioritize production over taxation, aiming to alleviate the economic burdens faced by Ghanaians while stimulating growth and innovation within the local industries.
This critique comes at a crucial time as Ghana navigates through economic challenges, including inflation and unemployment, which have sparked widespread concern among the populace.

The debate over economic strategies is central to the broader political discourse in the country, as citizens and leaders alike ponder the best path forward to sustainable development and prosperity.
In sum, the stark accusations from Osofo Kyiri Abosom against Vice-President Bawumia highlight significant discontent with the current economic policies and leadership style.
They also underscore a growing demand for political accountability and a shift towards policies that not only promise but also deliver real economic improvements.
As Ghana approaches another electoral cycle, these criticisms are likely to resonate with many, particularly among the youth, who are increasingly vocal about their demands for genuine change and effective governance.
