Archbishop Porter Girls, four other schools records COVID-19 cases
A student of the Archbishop Porter Girls Senior High School (SHS) has tested positive for the locally transmitted COVID-19, the Western Regional Director of Health, Dr. Jacob Mahama has confirmed.
The Health Director confirming the cases in an interview with Citi News monitored by Georgeweb.org further disclosed that some eight students of the Nsei SHS in Axim have also reportedly contracted the novel virus, adding that other three schools have recorded one case each.
According to Dr. Jacob Mahama, Archbishop Porter Girls SHS is among five schools that have recorded a case of the virus.
“Western Region has recorded some COVID-19 cases. About five schools, each has one case but Nsei SHS in Axim has eight cases,” Dr. Jacob Mahama said.

“Archbishop Porter Girls too we had one case but there are other cases which results haven’t come yet.” he added.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson of the Western Regional Education Service, Kate Biney said the other schools that have recorded cases are Ahantaman Girls, Diabene SHS, and Adiembra SHS.
This new case adds up to the earlier recorded cases of COVID-19 in some schools like the Accra Girls Senior High Schools and Wesley High Schools.

The Municipal Director of Education for Asante Akim Central, Mrs. Patricia Sarpong has disclosed that 3 students of Wesley High Senior High School (SHS) have recovered from the locally transmitted COVID-19 after testing positive.
