Akufo-Addo’s name pops up in KT Hammond, Wontumi war
Chairman Wontumi and Hon KT Hammond have become the talk of politics within the NPP fraternity. The big question is why should this be happening as the party gets ready to elect its parliamentary candidates for the December 2020 elections?
The new development is that the beef between Chairman Wontumi and Hon KT Hammond, Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and Member of Parliament (MP) for Adansi-Asokwa in the Ashanti Region respectively has taken a new dimension and the name of President Nana Akufo-Addo has been brought into the raging confusion.
The bad blood between the two linchpin pins of the NPP in the Ashanti region dates back as far as 2015 s revealed by KT Hammond.

Member of Parliament (MP) for Adansi-Asokwa revealed saying “In October 2015, three of us; candidate Nana Akufo-Addo, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and me KT had a meeting with Nana Asantehene in his board room at Manhyia. While the meeting was ongoing, Chairman Wontumi called me out for a discussion in my constituency about then ongoing limited voters’ registration. He asked me to explain why I am not supervising the registration and I explained to him that, I will not do anything jeopardize the Constituency for both of us. He get furious over my explanation and push me. … since then, Wontumi has shown dislike for me”,

The MP meant no harm and did not use any derogatory words against the regional chairman but Regional Chairman decided to attack after calling him out from the meeting. The MP revealed that, what happened between the two of them was never witnesses by Nana Addo and Bawumia because everything happened outside

According to Hon. KT Hammond “Everything happened outside so Nana Addo and Bawumia all didn’t see it. It was between two of us alone”.
