About 40,000 BECE graduates Miss Automatic and Self Placement (No Free SHS for Such Students)

When the 2020 School placement goes live on Sunday, 27th February 2021, as many as 39163 out of the 533693 who wrote the 2020 BECE will miss both automatic placement and self placement.

These are students who did not make the grades for placement into any secondary school. The group includes students whose results have been withheld by WAEC and have not been released or may have been canceled altogether.

Again candidates who obtained grade 9 in Mathematics and Integrated Science or one of them do not get placed by the Ghana Education Service.

Such students can only enjoy the Free SHS if they resit the paper(s) they failed. WAEC has already started the registration for the 2021 Private BECE. Students and parents are advised to enroll their wards for the examination when it turns out they have not been placed and do not have the option to use the self placement module.

Normally, students who have not been placed automatically and have not been given the option to do the self placement will see a message that indicates the subject(s) failed for I do not place which reason one. In addition, the “Proceed to Self Placement Button” may not be displayed for the candidate to do a self placement.
