Black Stars Face Austria in World Cup Warm-Up

The Black Stars of Ghana will be playing an international friendly later today against Austria at the Ernst Happel Stadium at 17:00. Coming into this international friendly game, the Ghana Football Association has added some new faces to the technical team of the Black Stars to assist with tactical and technical decisions ahead of the upcoming World Cup.
Both Alain Ravera and Kim Lars Björkegren have been appointed as assistant coaches. José Daniel Martínez Alfonso, a Spaniard, has also been appointed by the FA as a video analyst. He will oversee the recording and evaluation of training footage, analyse team tactics, and scout opponents for their strengths and weaknesses.
Carlos Lozano Romero has also been reappointed as the team’s physiotherapist. In addition, British-born Ghanaian performance specialist Dwayne Peasah Paa Kwesi has been appointed as a performance coach.
Key player Mohammed Kudus, who plays for Tottenham Hotspur in the English top flight, could not join the team as he is nursing a muscle injury.
Five new players have been called up to join the team: Patrick Pfeiffer (SV Darmstadt), Derrick Luckassen (Pafos FC), Marvin Senaya (Auxerre), Prince Adu (Viktoria Plzen), and Daniel Agyei (Kocaelispor).

The Black Stars of Ghana have only played one match against Austria, which ended in a 1-1 draw in 2007. Austria have lost one and drawn one in their last five games, winning the other three. Ghana, on the other hand, have won three of their last five matches and lost two.
