CIMG inducts new members
The Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana (CIMG) recently inducted new members and chartered marketers, marking their official recognition as professional marketers in Ghana.
These individuals completed their professional marketing courses with the institute in December last year and June this year.
The induction ceremony, held in Accra last Wednesday, welcomed 86 new marketers and 30 chartered marketers into the CIMG fold, including one fellow member for December 2023 and June 2024.
The ceremony was a testament to the dedication of marketers who have completed the Continuing Professional Development process post-qualification, showcasing many years of practice or teaching at higher levels.
Attendees included distinguished personalities such as the Patron of CIMG, Professor Stephen Adei; the National President of CIMG, Dr. Daniel Kasser Tee; the National Secretary of CIMG, Franklin Sowa; the Vice President of CIMG, Theodore Osae; and the Deputy Director of Consolidated Bank Ghana (CBG), Nana Ama Poku, who was inducted as a fellow of CIMG.
In his address to the new members, Dr. Daniel Kasser Tee emphasized the importance of embodying the principles acquired during their professional practice.
He urged them to transform industry narratives and uphold high standards, advising them to steer their organizations away from unprofessional marketing conduct.
Instead, he advocated for sound strategies that create customer value as a means to grow businesses.
“Building stronger relationships with your customers will guarantee customer satisfaction and, in turn, promote customer loyalty,” he stated.
Dr. Kasser Tee also highlighted the importance of embracing new and emerging technologies, particularly Artificial Intelligence (AI), to enhance and promote their work as marketers.
“AI offers unprecedented opportunities to gain deeper insights into customer behaviors, enhance personalization, and optimize marketing strategies.
By leveraging AI, you can stay ahead of the curve, ensuring your marketing efforts are innovative, customized, and effective,” he noted.

Furthermore, he encouraged investment in marketing research, underscoring its essential role in understanding customers, industry trends, and the strategies of competitors.
He stressed that anticipating competitors’ actions and devising comprehensive, workable strategies was crucial for business success.
Delivering an address on behalf of the newly inducted members and chartered marketers, Nana Ama Poku, Deputy Director of CBG, expressed gratitude to the Governing Council of the CIMG and the Membership and Welfare Committee for their support.
She acknowledged the high standards set by previous inductees, which serve as legacies motivating them to achieve similar milestones. “The roles we assume today require unwavering dedication, integrity, and transparency. As a community bound by a shared purpose, we pledge to give our best and distinguish ourselves with integrity and transparency,” she declared.
Poku urged CIMG members to embrace their journey with a shared vision and commitment to the Institute, harnessing collective talents to serve as exemplary figures in their respective fields.
She underscored the pivotal role of marketing as the driving force behind successful businesses.
“Marketing is the oxygen that sustains businesses, helping them identify growth opportunities and understand markets and consumer behavior. Let us be worthy suppliers of this much-needed oxygen as we chart a course towards progress, growth, and success,” she concluded.
Her optimism about the future and excitement to be part of this professional journey resonated with all attendees, reinforcing the significant role that marketing professionals play in the business landscape.
