Messi, the recipient of the prestigious Ballon d’Or award eight times, encountered a hamstring injury at the beginning of the season. Currently, the legendary player is tending to a knee issue. Consequently, he was unable to participate in a match against Orlando City, resulting in a 0-0 draw. Interestingly, Inter Miami had previously triumphed over Orlando City with a resounding 5-0 victory in March, when all players were fit and ready to compete.

In an interview with MLS Wrap-Up, Sacha Kljestan discussed the challenges faced by Inter Miami when they are unable to choose from their complete range of attacking talent. Kljestan pointed out that injuries have been a major issue for the team. He also mentioned that the absence of Messi significantly alters the dynamics of the team, even though Suarez is still an exceptional player. However, Kljestan believes that Suarez’s performance is not the same without Messi’s presence.

With the Argentine international missing training on Tuesday, Messi being rested for this week’s Florida derby was a smart decision from Tata Martino, who admitted that the forward should be available for Saturday.

Yet Kljestan pointed out what happens to Suarez when Messi isn’t playing for Inter Miami.

Lionel Messi’s future remains uncertain as he continues to impress in the MLS alongside his teammate Suarez. With both players performing well and contributing significantly to their team’s success, fans are eager to see what lies ahead for Messi. Inter Miami and Suarez have to learn to win without Messi
Messi is still one of the best attackers on the planet and easily the best player to ever grace MLS, with Inter Miami seemingly reliant on the Argentine international to pick up wins.

And if the Herons want to achieve anything, they need to learn how to win without Messi, with Suarez a player who can help with this problem in the weeks to come.

The Uruguay international has shown he can be a star player in his own right for Inter Miami, and when Messi isn’t playing, Suarez needs to take control into his own hands and become the new leading man for the Florida franchise.
