UTAG Consents to Strike Suspension after Deliberation with Education Committee from Parliament

Ranking Member on the Education Committee in Parliament, Peter Nortsu-Kotoe has made public, news that UTAG has agreed to suspend their strike action.

This was a result of a meeting and some deliberation the Education Committee from Parliament including the Education and Labour Ministers.

The agreement by UTAG was dependent on the government consenting to certain terms; UTAG needs government to reestablish their 2012 states of administration, which fixed the month to month pay of beginner lecturers at $2,084.

Members and Lecturers are set to return to normal teaching and learning activities on Monday February 21,2022.
