NDC MPs targeted by Autocratic Akuffo Addo to influence E-levy decision; Haruna Iddrisu claims.

The NDC/minority leader in parliament, Haruna Iddrisu, expressed his frustration and utmost disgust towards alleged attempts by the NPP spearheaded by Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo to effectively influence the debate and vote over E-levy decision in parliament.
He claims they do so by undermining the NDC numbers in parliament. He expressed his views in a press conference on Thursday February 3,2022.
He described the act as autocratic and desperate.
Haruna Iddrisu made a reference to the case against the Assin North MP , Gyakye Quayson, who has been effectively charged on counts of forgery, perjury and intentionally making deceitful statements and declarations.
This very issue stretches back all the way to 2019 when Mr Quayson applied for a Ghanaian passport and allegedly held a Canadian citizenship since 2016 which he apparently omitted from his application, hence holding dual citizenship.
The constitution prohibits anyone with dual citizenship from standing for any kind of national elections. He participated in the elections and therefore won the Assin North MP seat.
In 2021, investigations were made by the Criminal Investigation Department following complaints leveled against him in that regard.
He was charged and then prosecuted in a Cape Coast High Court and was declared to have been ineligible to contest for such a position.
He allegedly still joins parliament in their daily affairs.
