This “Nonsense” Must Stop: NDC faithfuls allegedly destroy NPP posters in Ayawaso West Wuogon

As Ghana’s 2020 general election edges closer, members of the two major parties must, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) must fall in line and do the right things to ensure peace and respect for each other.

The right things to do include respecting the political space of each other. This means not tampering with the party posters for creating awareness for the various parties.

Our team at Newsghana24.com sighted posters of the ruling which had been destroyed by suspected NDC party members in the Ayawaso Wuogon Constituency. In place of the destroyed posters, the opposition NDC’s poster was pasted on the same surface. One could see pieces of the torn posters on the ground at the scene.

The act of destroying the posters of opponents, posting one’s posters on that of others, and intentionally removing them are not practices that should be permitted.

Both parties are to be blamed for this intolerance and open display of disrespect for each other. Videos and pictures have also emerged in which the NPP has been found equally guilty of similar offenses.

A careful look at the images attached makes it clear, this act was intentional as one could see the destroyed posters are that of the NPP presidential candidate and president of the Republic H.E President Nana Addo.

Let all party supporters in the West Ayawaso Wuogon  Constituency and Ghana at large fall in line and do the right thing. We call on leaders of both parties at all levels to use their campaign platforms to advise their party supporters to put a stop to this unhealthy practice.
