2022 WASSCE grading for School candidates update

According to WAEC’s Lawrence Dogbatse, the WASSCE grading system for schools is a criterion reference that is not static.
It is important to add that after WAEC releases results, candidates who aren’t pleased with their grades may seek to remark, which is an element of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination process and costs money.
When WAEC finalizes the 2022 WASSCE grading for school candidates, it will be sued for the calculation of subject performance grades.
This means WAEC may alter the 2021 WASSCE grading system used upwards or downwards per their final verdict.  Students would prefer a grading system that is lower for each grade than an upward adjustment in the range of scores.
For instance, if WAEC makes A1 Excellent  – 80% – 100%, that would mean less number of candidates may obtain A1 compared to the 2021 A1 score range of 75% – 100%.

How To Calculate  WASSCE Results?

A candidate’s final aggregate is determined by adding the numerical values that correspond to his or her best six subjects. The best six subjects include the four core subjects (Mathematics, English, Integrated Science, and Social Studies). Note that Maths and English are compulsory addition. For candidates who want to pursue science-related programs at the tertiary level, ie University would have to include Integrated Science or else Social Studies for those pursuing none science subjects.

Whether the grading system will be tough or not should not be a candidate’s worry.  WASSCE grading for School candidates.
