10,000 withheld 2024 WASSCE English Language results released but WAEC must be sued

The 2024 WASSCE withheld English language has been released per reliable sources of NewsGhana24.
The NUGS, upon hearing WAEC had withheld results of over ten thousand students who took part in the 2024 WASSCE, intervened for them.
The union stated the WAEC intentionally withheld the papers just to prevent the affected students from entering the university of their choice this year. The union further stated that the withheld papers have given the affected students and their parents or guardians trauma and it has also infringed on the rights of these students. The union then gave WAEC just one week to release the papers or face worldwide protests since there is no evidence pertaining to the involvement in alleged malpractices.
WAEC also states that only deserving students should be given their grades to enter into the tertiary institutions. WAEC further states that students and parents or guardians should cooperate with the investigation they are having. And therefore they are in the final stages of the investigation.
After almost two months of investigations on the withheld papers, WAEC now sees the need to release some of the results since they did not find any evidence as anticipated. The sad reality of WAEC’s action is that many students who did not engage in any form of examination malpractices and were not invited to any investigations have been denied fair chances of gaining admission into the university for the 2024-2025 academic year by WAEC.
It will be prudent if some of the parents whose wards were not invited for any investigations but had their ward’s results withheld by WAEC sue the council for damages to ensure WAEC does not toy with the future of students in the name of “a try and error” investigation approach for identifying examination rule breachers.
On Friday, 7th February, 2025, WAEC released the withheld 2024 WASSCE English language papers. Over ten thousand students who received their grades were overjoyed to see the released grades.

It makes no legal and common sense to withold the results of students who committed no exam offense and who you never invited to any investigation panel. Parents must test the law now!
