The Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC) labeled the industrial action as an act of bad faith as the government is currently making efforts to address some grievances of the CETAG members.
CETAG on 14th June 2024, Friday, declared an Indefinite Strike because they believe the government of Ghana has delayed in implementing the National Labour Commission’s (NLC) Arbitral Award Orders and the negotiated service conditions.
CETAG’s strike action has affected all 46 public colleges of education in Ghana.
Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC) explained that the government is actively working to resolve CETAG’s concerns and called the timing of the strike unhelpful.
