WhatsApp now lets beta users send high quality videos, here is how
Following the successful rollout of HD photo sending, WhatsApp is now testing the capability to send HD videos, providing users with an enhanced multimedia experience.

In Short
- WhatsApp is now testing the capability to send HD videos.
- You will have the option to choose between Standard and HD video quality settings.
- Users need to update their WhatsApp beta version to 2.23.14.10 for Android.
WhatsApp, the popular messaging app, recently added the ability to send high-quality photos to all users. Following the successful rollout of HD photo sending, WhatsApp is now testing the capability to send HD videos, providing users with an enhanced multimedia experience. While this feature is currently in the beta phase, select Android users can already try it out. Here is how it works.
Similar to the process of sending HD photos, the updated WhatsApp version for videos also shows an ‘HD’ button in the drawing editor of the app, as reported by WABetaInfo. This means that before sending a video, users will have the option to choose between two video quality settings: Standard and HD.
By default, WhatsApp compresses videos to reduce data usage and storage space. However, the HD option allows users to send videos in higher quality, but they are also slightly compressed. Although the original quality may not be retained, the HD quality offers a significant improvement in video clarity. For instance, a video in Standard quality may have dimensions of 416 x 880 pixels and a size of 6.3MB, while the HD version will have dimensions of 608 x 1296 pixels and a size of 12MB, according to the screenshots.
