UPSA to Adopt La Nkwatanang Basic School

UPSA to adopt La Nkwatanang Basic School as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility towards the community in which it finds itself. UPSA believes this will make its presence and relevance felt in the community as a responsible tertiary institution and citizen.

This was made known in a press release dated 7th February 2020. According to information gathered by NewsGhana24.com, the decision is to adopt the school as part of the University’s 55th-anniversary celebration.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof Okoe Amartey, and the entire university community intend to introduce other innovative projects aimed at improving the quality of education provided as well as the academic performance of pupils of the school.

Plans by UPSA to adopt La Nkwatanang Basic School follows a similar project it rolled out during the long vacation during which it provided free tuition to SHS students.

UPSA TO ADOPT LA NKWATANANG BASIC SCHOOL

The University of Professional Studies will launch the UPSA Community-Academic Project at La Nkwatanang M/A Basic School at Madina, on Monday 10th February 2020 at 10 a.m.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof Okoe Amartey, will use the occasion to formally adopt the School as part of the 55th Anniversary celebrations. He will also roll out a number of initiatives aimed at improving the academic performance of pupils at La Nkwatanang cluster of schools.

The ceremony forms part of the Vice-Chancellor’s “Investing in our Community” initiative which saw the University organize free vacation classes last year, for senior high school students within the community in order to improve upon their academic performance.

All invited guests are expected to be seated at 9: 30 a.m. prompt.
