UniMAC-IJ Set To Host Matriculation Ceremony For Freshers.

The University of Media Arts and Communication Institute of Journalism is set to host a matriculation ceremony for freshers tomorrow, marking the start of their journey in the institution.
UniMAC-IJ, formerly known as the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ), will be formally introducing its first-year students into the academic world with an exciting matriculation ceremony, which is expected to be held at the new campus of UniMAC-IJ at South Legon in Accra tomorrow, 14th February 2025.
The Ghana Institute of Journalism which is now known as The University Of Media Arts And Communication Institute Of Journalism was established by the first president of the republic of Ghana Dr Kwame Nkrumah with the aim to train young men and women with the skills and techniques of journalism, mass communication and public relations. Along the line, this noble institution has trained some of Ghana’s well-known media personnel.
With the institution’s primary objective being to train young men and women in the communications workspace, they will be welcoming their fresh batch of students as they matriculate and officially begin their academic journey at the university. The matriculation ceremony will be held at the North Dzorwulu campus in Accra and will commence at exactly 10:00AM. The matriculation ceremony will be attended by university officials, faculty members, and also newly admitted students. Newly admitted students are expected to take part in the traditional gowning, the signing of the matriculation register, and also in the oath-taking process pledging to uphold the academic standards of the university.
The university is expected to open its admission portal later this year to admit new students who are willing to pursue a career in any of the media fields.
