Tragic Accident Involving President Akufo-Addo’s Convoy on Accra-Kumasi Highway

In a tragic turn of events, several vehicles from President Nana Akufo-Addo’s convoy were involved in a fatal accident on the Bunso-Akyem Asafo stretch of the Accra-Kumasi Highway on Sunday, 19th May 2024.

The incident occurred while the convoy was returning from Kumasi after a series of official events attended by the President over the weekend.

The collision resulted in the heartbreaking loss of one of the drivers, Mr. Kwesi Atta. Alongside this devastating loss, several members of the President’s close protection and police officers sustained varying degrees of injuries. Initial medical aid was administered at the Suhum Government Hospital before the injured were transferred to the University of Ghana Medical Centre for more comprehensive treatment and observation.
