Thomas Partey’s Future With Arsenal Decided
The London-based club has now decided on the future of Ghana’s national team vice-captain, Thomas Teye Partey.
Per unconfirmed reports from the English media, Thomas Teye Partey, a defensive midfielder who plays for English Premier League giants Arsenal, is set to renew his contract with the club after his current contract with the club expires at the end of this season. Earlier reports had it that the England-based club is not willing to renew the contract of the Ghanaian defensive midfielder, and he is likely to join his former club Atletico Madrid in Spain.
But yesterday, after their game with Crystal Palace which ended in a 2-2 draw, David Ornstein, a renowned sports journalist, was reporting for NBC, and he reported that Arsenal Football Club is currently negotiating a new contract with Thomas Partey. He stated, “Arsenal wants Thomas Partey to stay at the club beyond the end of his existing contract. They are in talks with him over a new deal.” He added that “Thomas Partey and his family are happy to continue their stay in London, and he will be open to a two-year contract or a one-year contract with an option to extend by twelve months.” He added that Thomas Partey is willing to have improved terms, and if both parties do not reach an agreement, then Partey will be leaving Arsenal at the end of the season.
Thomas Teye Partey joined Arsenal from Atletico Madrid in the year 2020 and has always been a key player for Mikel Arteta’s team.
