There Is Only One Way Bawumia Can Escape Defeat In December - Captain Smart Drops Shocking Confession
According to Captain Smart, there is only one way Bawumia can escape defeat in the upcoming December elections. Controversial presenter Captain Smart has been critical of Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the Minister of Energy and running mate of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP). Prempeh’s recent comments, suggesting that Kwame Nkrumah is not President Akufo-Addo’s equal, have sparked debate and criticism.
Many believe the NPP has been attempting to elevate the Danquah-Busia tradition over that of Kwame Nkrumah, a sentiment Prempeh’s comments seemed to confirm. In response to the backlash against Prempeh, Captain Smart has not only criticized him but also highlighted the achievements of Kwame Nkrumah. Recently, Captain Smart declared his support for Mahama in the upcoming December elections during his appearance on NDC 360. He argued that it is absurd to compare Akufo-Addo to Kwame Nkrumah and listed Nkrumah’s accomplishments, challenging Prempeh to do the same for Akufo-Addo.
Captain Smart believes Prempeh’s statements have ensured a significant defeat for the NPP. He claims that the only way for the party to have any chance of recovering is if an NPP founding father or leader publicly apologizes on behalf of the Energy Minister. Without such an apology, Captain Smart predicts that the Central and Western regions will overwhelmingly support Mahama, leading to a loss for Bawumia and Prempeh.
While he acknowledges that an apology might not completely save the NPP from defeat, Captain Smart suggests it could at least calm public outrage and make voters reconsider their decision not to support the ruling party.

Captain Smart’s critique is based on a broader concern that the NPP has not adequately recognized the legacy of Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana’s first president and a key figure in the country’s independence. By seemingly downplaying Nkrumah’s contributions, the NPP risks alienating voters who hold Nkrumah in high esteem.
The presenter emphasized that Nkrumah’s achievements, such as industrialization efforts, educational reforms, and infrastructural developments, are unparalleled. He challenged the NPP to present comparable accomplishments under President Akufo-Addo’s administration, implying that failing to do so discredits any comparison between the two leaders.
Captain Smart’s stance has resonated with many Ghanaians who feel that the NPP’s rhetoric undermines Nkrumah’s legacy. This sentiment could significantly influence voter behavior in the upcoming elections.
According to Captain Smart, an apology from a senior NPP figure would not only address the immediate backlash but also demonstrate respect for Nkrumah’s legacy and acknowledge the public’s sentiment. He believes that this act of humility could mitigate some of the damage done by Prempeh’s comments and potentially sway undecided voters or those leaning towards the opposition.

In summary, Captain Smart argues that the NPP must take decisive action to apologize for Prempeh’s remarks to avoid a devastating defeat in the December elections. This apology, while not a guaranteed solution, could be a crucial step in regaining public trust and support.
