Shaq sparks concern with hospital bed tweet: “I’m always watching”

Retired NBA superstar Shaquille O’Neal underwent successful hip surgery on March 15, 2021. The 49-year-old athlete shared a photo of himself in a hospital bed on Instagram, thanking his medical team and fans for their support.
O’Neal, who stands at 7-foot-1, had experienced discomfort in his hip for several years. The pain had become so severe that it was affecting his ability to walk and exercise. Despite receiving treatment and therapy, the pain persisted, leading him to undergo surgery.
The procedure involved replacing his deteriorated hip joint with a new one made of metal and plastic. According to his doctors, the surgery went well, and O’Neal is expected to make a full recovery.
Following the surgery, O’Neal shared a photo on Instagram, which showed him lying in a hospital bed wearing a hospital gown and socks. He had a big smile on his face and had his thumbs up, indicating that he was feeling well.
In the caption, he wrote, “Success. I appreciate you Dr. Uribe, Dr. Kvitne, Dr. Nassar, and the entire staff at Cedars-Sinai. Thank you for all the well wishes, texts, emails, and DMs. I’ll be back soon.”
O’Neal’s fans and followers flooded the comments section with messages of support and well wishes. Many of them expressed their admiration for the athlete and his positive attitude.
O’Neal retired from the NBA in 2011 after a 19-year career, during which he won four championships and was named the league’s Most Valuable Player in 2000. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest basketball players of all time.
In addition to his basketball career, O’Neal has also had success in the entertainment industry, with roles in movies and television shows. He is also a successful entrepreneur, with a variety of business ventures to his name.
