King Promise stood out as the biggest winner at the 26th edition of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), which was held on Saturday, May 10 at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre.
The Afrobeats star won the coveted Artiste of the Year title, prevailing against tough competition from King Paluta, Stonebwoy and others. This marks the first time King Promise took home the top award at the annual awards ceremony.
He secured three more wins on the night:
- Best Album/EP of the Year
- Best Afropop Song of the Year
- Afrobeats/Afropop Artiste of the Year
Gospel veteran Yaw Sarpong also won the Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his lifetime in gospel music in Ghana.
The night featured performances from a mix of rising and established stars, including Ayisi, Yaw Darling, Empress Gifty, King Paluta, Stonebwoy and King Promise himself.
There was also a a heartfelt performance by Adina, Adomaa and Titi Owusu in honour of the legendary Osibisa band and its late founder, Teddy Osei. 32 awards were given out in all, showcasing the best talent in diverse music styles

- Best Music Video – Stonebwoy (Jerejere)
- Best Gospel Artiste – Joe Mettle
- Producer of the Year – Khendi Beatz (Aseda)
- Best Afropop/Afrobeats Artiste – King Promise
- Best Urban/Contemporary Gospel Song – Team Eternity Ghana
