Police arrest 3 suspected baby thieves at Kasoa
Kasoa’s Division of Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) has arrested 3 individuals for stealing a baby at Kasoa.
According to details of the report by UTV, the mother of the newborn baby, 22-year-old Abigail Addison, who operates her pure water business at the Kasoa New Market, was approached by the first suspect identified as Magdalene Nana Adwoa Boafo.
Magdalene became friends with Abigail Addison who was at that time heavily pregnant, under the guise of helping her and her unborn child.
Magdalene according to reports paid for Abigail’s stay at a hotel for two days before introducing her to Eunice, the second suspect.
The two suspects, Magdalene and Eunice, then proceeded to get an apartment for Pregnant Abigail at Lamptey Mills, a suburb of Kasoa.
While in labour a week later, Abigail was taken to the Kasoa Polyclinic by her new landlord.

Unaware of the suspects’ true intentions all these while, Abigail called Magdalene and Eunice to inform them about her delivery at the Polyclinic.
Later, the two suspects reportedly informed Abigail, the mother of the child, that her baby was ill and needed to be taken to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital for medical care by their friend, a nurse called Faustina.
After two days of not knowing the whereabouts of the newborn baby, Abigail’s landlord was informed by the suspects that the child had passed away while receiving treatment at the hospital.
The incident was reported to the police, who then launched an investigation into the case.
Subsequently, the three women were arrested at their respective homes, and the police found the baby alive and healthy, the baby was then rescued by the Police.
