NSMQ2019 Final: St. Peters to defend title against PRESEC & St. Augustine’s College

St. Peter’s Senior High School in the Eastern Region has made it to the NSMQ2019-2019 Science and Maths Quiz again after they beat rivals, Tepa SHS and the much talked about Wesley Girls’ High School in the second semi-finals. The scores obtained by the three schools at the end of the contest are as follows.

St. Peter’s SHS: 48pts

Tepa SHS: 28pts

Wesley Girls’ High School: 26pts

PRESEC Legon had other ideas in the other semi-final clash that saw them humble Adisadel College and Opoku Ware School to stay afloat and pick the single ticket from that contest for the finals scheduled for 11th July 2019. The scores obtained by the three schools at the end of the contest are as follows.

Presec, Legon: 48pts

Adisadel College: 34pts

Opoku Ware School: 31pts

In the final clash on the day, three schools fought for the last slot for the NSMQ2019 slot but in the end, Augustine’s College proved too strong for the other contestants Keta SHTS and  GSTS. The scores obtained by the three schools at the end of the contest are as follows.

St. Augustine’s College: 53pts

Keta SHTS: 29pts

GSTS: 15pts

St. Peter’s Senior High School will put in their best effort to retain the bragging rights come 11th July 2019 but the PRESEC boys would want to prove a point that, they have won the competition more than any other school and know how to deliver at the big stage.

Presec has won the finals five times with the last one been as far back as 2009. Ten years on, they will love to rewrite the scripts.

The first and last time St. Augustine’s College annexed the trophy was in 2007. Can they pull a fast one this year and make it two or the defending champions St. Peter’s SHS will show PRESEC and St. Augustine’s College that their 2018 win was not by chance.

St. Augustine’s College, the Nkwatia-based school did the unexpected when they beat then less fancied West Africa SHS to the title by just a point in the 2018  finals. With 45 points, they emerged the 2018 winners while WASS obtained 44 points to place second and then Adisadel College trailed with 39 points.
