MMDCE’s encouraged to support government’s education agenda by the Minister of Education

Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, Minister of Education, had a meeting with a number of the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCE’s) to discuss issues of education and enrollment in their various jurisdictions.
He added that in order to realize President Nana Akuffo Addo’s objective of transforming the nation through education, all stakeholders must come together and work as a team, taking a strong interest in the development of education in their respective areas.
The conference, which was convened at the minister’s request, was held to discuss low enrolment and identify a long-term solution.
The minister informed the MMDCEs that the government was ready to do all possible to guarantee that every child in the country received the finest education possible, regardless of location, religion, ethnicity, political inclination, or social standing.
Ms Catherine Appiah Pinkrah, the General Administration Director of the Ministry, was also in attendance as she encouraged them to work alongside the education directors to help promote general educational development.
About 40 MMDCE’s were identified as having recorded the lowest enrollment rate in their respective areas of operation; the ministry revealed its agenda to better such situations.
