Lobbying for Akufo-Addo’s replacement in 2024 has started – Sammi Awuku
Sammi Awuku, National Organizer of the NPP, announced that 2024 is four years from now but several party leaders have begun campaigning for the position of party flag bearer.
Sammi Awuku said that while the current nominee (Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo) had yet to be sworn in for a second term of offices, he had already started getting appeals from people expressing a concern that they want to become the next new candidate of the New Patriotic Party.
“It’s normal, you have people calling you and saying National Organizer I’m looking at things this way. Even me I don’t know my fate. I think this process won’t be until 2023. I don’t think it has started too early, it’s normal.” He stated in an interview with JoyNews.
Sammi Awuku says that candidates are picked on the grounds of their potential to sustain the party presidential seat.
