KNUST Student stabbed several times in the course of NPP ‘Thank You’ tour event at Bantama

A student of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), associated with Unity Hall (Conti), has been admitted for medical care after he was stabbed several times during an altercation at a “Thank You” tour event of the New Patriotic Party in the Ashanti Region.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, 29th April, 2025 at the Bantama Pentecost Church, where the event took place. The victim was part of the Jama Group from Unity Hall, which had been hired by the camp of former Assin Central Member of Parliament, Kennedy Agyapong, to help make the event engaging.
As per an eyewitnesses, a financially secure friend of Kennedy Agyapong who attended the event gave cash to the Jama group, but a team of strong individuals, men with gun , who are believed to be NPP members snatched the money unexpectedly.
This resulted in a fight between the Jama group and the team of strong individuals, as gunshots were fired in the ensuing melee.
One of the Jama group members who’s a student of KNUST was stabbed in the course of the fight. Due to that he immediately taken to the emergency unit of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, where he’s currently under medical management.
Kennedy Agyapong and his members has reported the incident at the Kumasi Central Police Command. Yet no one has been arrested.
