Joe Biden Steps Down as Presidential Candidate

In a shocking announcement, America’s current President Joe Biden Jr. has revealed his decision to step down from contesting in America’s general elections.

In an official letter addressing the good people of America, President Joe Biden highlighted and reminisced some of his achievements during his time in office, emphasizing that it was only achievable due to the collective support of America.

For the past 3 years now, Joe Biden has achieved notable strides in many sectors in the United States, leading to what he believes has made America the strongest economy in the world.

Under his leadership, he made significant investments in rebuilding the country, eg. Decreasing the cost of medicines prescribed for seniors, expanding USA’s affordable healthcare and many others.

Among his notable achievements, President Biden highlighted the provision of critically needed care to a million veterans exposed to hard drugs and the passage of the first significant gun safety law in 30 years.

In addition to all these, Joe Biden elected the first African Woman to the Supreme Court and enacted the most substantial climate regulation and rules in the history of the world.

“America has never been better positioned to lead than we are today,” President Biden stated, emphasizing the progress made in revitalizing alliances globally and preserving democracy amidst challenges.

A Collective Achievement

President Joe Biden noted that all these achievements were not only his hard work but also that of the resilience and unity of the people of America.

He expressed his gratitude by thanking the people of America for their support and dedication, which helped America overcome a once-in-a-century pandemic and the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression.

“Together, we protected and preserved our Democracy, and we’ve revitalized and strengthened our alliances around the world,” he wrote.

Even though Biden decided to seek reelection earlier this year, he realized it was not in the best interest of his party and the country, thus his decision to step down.

He explained that he will, for now channel his energy into performing his duties as the current President until he is replaced by a new president.

Even though his decision to step down came with a surprise, it shows his commitment to the people of America.

The president then promised that he is going to provide more details about his move to step down coming this week.

In the meantime, he expressed his deepest thanks to those who worked tirelessly to see him reelected, particularly Vice President Kamala Harris.

“Let me express my heartfelt appreciation to the American people for the faith and trust you have placed in me,” part of the letter read.

A Call for Unity

Concluding his letter, President Biden reiterated his unwavering belief in the potential of America when united. “I believe today what I always have: that there is nothing America can’t do – when we do it together. We just have to remember we are the United States of America.”
