Christian Service University College Addresses Alleged Attack on Student at Mahama Lecture
The Christian Service University College (CSUC) has announced steps to address an alleged attack on one student during a public lecture delivered by former President John Dramani Mahama on Wednesday, June 19, 2024. The university has confirmed that the Dean of Students has reached out to the student in question to provide necessary psycho-social support.
The public lecture, which was part of the university’s 50th anniversary celebrations, was generally successful, according to the university. However, an isolated incident occurred outside the auditorium where the event was held, resulting in an alleged attack on one of the students.
The university has expressed regret over the incident and has assured that it is taking necessary steps to address the matter holistically. As an academic institution, CSUC believes in multiparty democracy as the bedrock for sustainable development and security in Ghana, and maintains neutrality in all its dealings with the established political order of the day.
