Captain Smart Granted bail by Accra Circuit Court.

Blessed Godsbrain Smart, well known as Captain Smart, and another radio presenter, Eric Daniels Dadzie Copperfield, pleaded not guilty at the Accra circuit court after they were charged with two counts of extortion and blackmail. They have therefore been granted a bail.
Prosecutors have accused Captain Smart and Cooperfield of extorting money from a certain business person from Tema after a supposed blackmail effort threatening to reveal certain unlawful business activities.
The said amount of money is GH¢50,000 which was apparently collected by Eric Cooperfield on behalf of Captain Smart.
Making an application for bail, legal counselor for the charged people, Mr Martin Kpebu, said Captain Smart was a proponent for the anti corruption campaign and has therefore been a target of such practices.
The Accra Circuit court has thereby granted them bail following the request pending any future trial.
