Black Queens to Face the Atlas Lionesses of Morocco in an International Friendly.
The senior female soccer team of Ghana is set to face the Atlas Lionesses of Morocco in an international friendly.
In what is expected to be an entertaining fixture on the calendar of African Women Football, the Black Queens are expected to take on the Atlas Lionesses of Morocco in an international friendly. This fixture is scheduled to be played on the 21st of February 2025 and will serve as preparations for both teams for the upcoming Women’s African Cup of Nations Tournament (WAFCON), which is expected to commence later this year.
Newly appointed Swedish head coach of the Black Queens, Kim Lars Bjorkergen, will be in the dugout for his first game as the head coach of the Black Queens. Kim Lars Bjorkergen was appointed as the head coach of the Black Queens in early January after Swiss 41-year-old coach Nora Hauptle left her role as the head coach of the Black Queens and went on to manage the Copper Queens of Zambia after she had some technical issues with the Ghana Football Association. Kim Lars Bjorkergen has experience in women’s football, some of which include being named as the coach of the season in Cyprus in the 2021-22 football season. He has also won some domestic titles in the Cyprus league and also holds a UEFA License A qualification with 18 years of coaching experience.
With the head-to-head between the two teams, Morocco has shown some dominance in football currently and will always be tipped by football pundits to take a win on any day. However, football is never predicted and always requires 90 minutes of play. Both teams do have some specially talented players and will be able to exhibit their talent on any day.
