Abena Tay Ministries: Storm Nsawam Prisons With “When Women Worship, Prison Edition”

AbenaTay Ministries in collaboration with Women in Gospel Music has organized a Pre-Mothers Day When Women Worship concert dubbed: “Chavvah.”(life-giver).
The Chavvah “Pre-Mothers Days When Women Worship” concert, which was held in a grand style at the Nsawam Female Security Prison was aimed at providing an opportunity for women to come together and worship, fellowship with their incarcerated counterparts.
Lady Rev. Dr. Abena Tay CDSE, the President and Founder of the Abena Tay Ministries (ATM), who is the brain behind the “When Women Worship” speaking at the event explained that this year’s edition was aimed at encouraging positive behavior and instilling hope in the female inmates who have found themselves in prison.
Stressing that, they believe that music is a powerful tool that will have a lasting impact on the lives of the inmates as well.
According to her, within the worship is a Chavvah female award segment whereby certain female pace-setters are presented with the Chavvah Award as a way of appreciating and encouraging women who go all out for their families and nation at large.
This year, under Chavvah Life-Givers Award, we intended to honour these extraordinary women namely; Mrs. Patience Baffoe-Bonnie -D.O.P Services, Mrs. Joana Fofo Tackie-Ottoo-D.O.P Welfare, Mrs. Sophia Osei-Bonsu -D.D.P (OLC) James Camp Prisons and Corp. (Mrs) Sandra Amponsah Adarkwa- Campers Mineral Water for their immense contribution and hard work at the prison services.
Since their commitment to reforming and rehabilitating inmates under their jurisdiction and of society at large is admirable and deserving of emulation.

Three (3) inmates were also honoured for their hard work, long-serving, and best behavior at the prisons.
Mother’s Day cake, food, drinks, clothes, provisions, and sanitary pads were also presented to them to help brighten their day and help them mark Mother’s Day joyfully
This year’s “When Women Worship” will undoubtedly be a sentimental encounter that its witnesses may find it difficult to forget. Over the years, this magnificent event has been a haven of worship for women from all walks of life.
Since this year’s ‘When Women Worship’ featured celebrated gospel music icons such as Kekeli, Becky Bonney, Min. Kekeli, Abena Ruthy, Min. Dianah Hammond, Nsroma and Ghana Prison Service Musical Band set the atmosphere ablaze with their angelic voices.
Present at the event was Rev.Dr. Kwesi Apenteng Yeboah, from the Prisons Ministry, joyful way incorporated also graced the occasion.
The When Women Worship musical concert is an assembly of worship leaders, women from all walks of life, and Christians together in one space for the common purpose of lifting high the name of Jesus.
