A UEW Lecturer and Educationist Requests for a paradigm shift in SHS education

Anita Oforiwaa Aduboahene, a lecturer from the University of Education Winneba(UEW), has suggested that the education system at the second cycle level be redesigned.
She asked for the government to streamline the education system as she criticized the current structure. She claimed that there was no alignment between the education system and the job market.
She calls for a restructuring of the SHS education system with reference to a report on Education in Africa.
The report revealed that most of the secondary school graduates join the Labour force before moving on to the tertiary level of education.
Apparently, out of the 98% of young people who enroll at the primary level in Sub-Saharan Africa, only 9% make it to tertiary education, and only 6% graduate.
