Former RBC co-host Gisela Amponsah speaks out on toxic podcast environment

Ghanaian influencer Gisela Ama Amponsah has publicly addressed her departure from the popular podcast Rants, Bants and Confessions (RBC), citing a lack of support from the show’s producers, Glitch Africa.
During a Q&A session with her close friend and former co-host Ama Burland on Let’s Do Drink, aired on The Creative Inc. YouTube channel on May 29, 2025, Gisela expressed feeling unprotected by the producers.
“There was just too much drama and I wasn’t feeling protected by the producers. They put me out there to be pounced on by predators, I felt I was set up a lot,” she stated.
Gisela highlighted instances where she attempted to manage certain situations but was hindered by the production team.
“There were a few times I tried to control certain situations and they won’t allow me. To me it seems what they cared about was the views, they didn’t care about the mental health or the people on the show so I was like you know what, I don’t even need them,” she said.
She also described the podcast environment as increasingly toxic for her, referencing a specific episode discussing illegal mining and protests.
“There was this episode where we spoke about galamsey and the protest and I had so many people coming at me because I was scratching my leg, I am a human being, I will itch, and they zoomed into that bit,” she explained.
Gisela co-hosted the second season of RBC alongside Ama Burland and Efia Odo. In recent episodes, both Gisela and Ama Burland have been absent, with new faces introduced to the show. The changes have sparked discussions among fans and followers of the podcast.
