Verdict on Ayodhya Case: SC to judge on Saturday

The Supreme Court is scheduled to give its judgment in the politically sensitive Ram Janmbhoomi-Babri Masjid land dispute in Ayodhya on Saturday.

It is probable that the Supreme court will announce judgment at 10:30 a.m.

After a 40-day unprecedented hearing, of this all-important landmark case, a 5-judge constitutional tribunal led by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi had reserved the judgment on Saturday.

Ayodhya verdict latest news is trending the world over and is gaining so much attention on social media. The supreme court verdict on ayodhya case which has been scheduled for 16th is expected to settle the 40 days legal battle.

The Ayodhya controversy, based around the land in the city of Ayodhya in Faizabad in the Uttar Pradesh district, is a political, cultural, and religious dispute within India.

The problems are the ownership of a location traditionally considered to be the place where the Hindu god, Ramah[1] was born; the history and position of the Babri Masjid in the site;

Judges S.A Bobde, DY Chandrachud, Ashok Bhashan and S. Abdul Nazeer are other members of the bench.

No clarification had been made on the date of the verdict until now except that on 17 November Ranjan Gogoi will retire as Chief Justice of India. Judge SA Bobde, the next Chief Justice to take charge of the Ayodhya case, described him as “one of the most important in the world.”

Calls for peace have come from Hindu and Muslim organizations and various political leaders before the verdict. While the Ministry of Home Affairs has asked all states to be alert, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a three-hour review meeting with top police and administrative authorities.
