If Nana Addo deserves 135 ministers, what stops GBC from having 6 channels?
As a country, we have failed to think in the right direction and in the right manner. Nana Addo’s government has 123 ministers, which stops GBC from having 6 channels? or what stops those calling for GBC to reduce its channels by 50% from telling Nana Addo to reduce his ministers by 50%?

It is so laughable when our so-called leaders lose sight of what constituted integrity and true leadership by example.
The attempt by the Ministry of Communication to reduce the number of channels operated by the state broadcaster, Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) is rather unfortunate.
But it is rather a good move which and decision that needs to be suggested to the government to reduce his ministerial appointments.
If the thought is that GBC is being wasteful, then the government is super wasteful in applying the taxpayers’ money to manage 123 ministers & 275 MPs.
The African proverb “Too much meat does not spoil the soup” has been the mindset of the Akuffo Addo led government. Growing up as a young Ghanaian child than to a young adult, I have known Ghana’s ministerial appointments not to have exceeded 90 per government. Today it is 135 or more and we are losing count of it.
Why can we have over 130 ministers and 275 Members of parliament but not 6 channels with variety?
If the National Digital Terrestrial Television platform is at full capacity why not close down new TV stations like Wontumi TV and those owned by the party faithfuls.

Are we saying that we decided to issue out all the available slots without reasoning? Why should the state broadcaster be sacrificed for the lack of proactiveness on the part of the ministry of communication?
Don’t shift the blame, rather expand the IT infrastructure and create more space.
Are there no nonperforming TV stations that can be closed apart from forcing GTV to close 3 channels in 60 days? We hope the channels are not given to private individuals. In Ghana, it is a possibility.
