LET THOSE WHO CAN AFFORD PAY-OTUMFUOR TO GOVT
The Free Senior High School policy that was implemented has received public reactions from Ghanaians who are worried that this new government might not continue what the Nana Addo-led party started. This has sparked mixed reactions because some parents are concerned that they might not be able to afford the school fees of their wards.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II made an earlier contribution to this rising issue and pleaded with the government to allow parents who can afford the school fees of their wards to pay while allowing those who cannot pay to attend school freely. He believes that some parents would prefer to pay school fees without any stress.
Another issue he addressed was the school’s infrastructure and resources. He urged the government to take action because, day in and day out, students complain about the desks they sit on, the books they use in the classroom, and other resources that are not functioning properly, making learning difficult.
He also spoke about the food being served in schools. He believes that a healthy meal can prevent students from getting sick or starving. It has come to his attention that some students are not being fed because food supplies do not reach the schools. He, therefore, urges the government to address this issue.
Ghanaians are happy about his involvement in this matter because they believe that influential people like him will speak up for them, and society, along with the government, will take action.
Osei Tutu II has assured them that he will ensure everything works well and that the government plays its part in providing quality education for students.
Education is the foundation of a country’s future, and every child deserves access to the best resources available. Many believe that if issues such as inadequate infrastructure, food shortages, and financial constraints are not addressed, the progress made in the education sector will be lost. Leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders must come together to find sustainable solutions that will benefit students now and in the years to come. When every child receives quality education, the nation as a whole prospers, creating a brighter future for all.
