Ghana to host 2025 ADEA Education conferences in October
The Government of Ghana will host the 2025 Triennale of the Association for the Development of Education in Africa (ADEA) Conference,set to take place from October 29 to 30 in Accra. The high-profile conference will unite over 500 important stakeholders in education from across Africa and beyond.
This year’s theme highlights “Strengthening the Resilience of Africa’s Education Systems: Advancing Towards Ending Learning Poverty by 2035 with a Well-Educated and Skilled Workforce.” Ghana’s Minister of Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, highlighted the importance of the conference in fostering economic and social progress through progressive learning
He drew to attention that “Ghana is honoured to host ADEA’s Triennale in Accra. We share in ADEA’s vision of eradicating learning poverty by 2035 and building a skilled workforce for Africa’s future.” He again said that “This platform offers us a valuable opportunity to showcase Ghana’s education reforms, engage with peers across the continent, and form bold partnerships that will uplift education throughout Africa.”
Executive Secretary of ADEA, Albert Nsengiyumva, with Ghana’s role as host and praised the country’s dedication to education innovation. He added that “We are delighted to. Collaborate with the Government of Ghana for the 2025 Triennale. Regardless the growing challenges—from learning poverty to labour market shifts and declining education financing—we must build system resilience, promote peer learning, and accelerate the adoption of proven solutions.”
Mr Nsengiyumva again said “Ghana’s leadership and innovation make it an ideal host for this pivotal gathering.”
The 2025 Triennale will monitor progress since the 2022 conference held in Mauritius and discovered new advancements in education across Africa. Discussions will also support key African Union agendas, including the African Union’s announcement of 2025–2034 as the rapid progress in Education decade and the outcomes of the 2024 Year of Education for Africa.
