Clergy should speak out when things go wrong – Kyerematen urges
Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen, the Movement for Change’s founder and leader, has urged the clergy to speak out against problems in the country’s governance.
He stated that it was always in the best interests of the country for men of God to speak up when the country was not on the right track, in addition to voting for their preferred candidate. Mr Kyerematen, who was on a day-long campaign tour in Koforidua, made the call while meeting with clergy from several churches last Monday.

The Clergy
The men of God were chosen from the Anglican Church, Reigning Power Gospel International Church, Power Tabernacle Calvary Worship Centre, Living Lessons Ministry, Restoration Family Church, and Calvary Redemption Global Ministry.
He also went to the residence of the Eastern Regional Chief Imam in Koforidua Zango, where members of the Council of Muslim Chiefs and Imams had assembled welcomed Mr Kyerematen.
Mr Kyerematen urged the clergy to make the right choice by voting for him in the December 7 election to become the next president in January 2025. He told the clergy that choosing the best person to be president was a deliberate decision.
“The future of Ghana will not be determined by chance but rather by choice that the people will make to get the best person to become president and I hope you will make a good choice by supporting me to win the presidential race,” Mr Kyerematen told the clergy.
Vision man
He stated that what the country needed now was a man of vision, competence, and action, rather than political party manifestos for progress, which were typically interrupted when the ruling party left power.
In that regard, he stated that if elected, he would implement a national development plan. Mr Kyerematen, who promised to include the clergy and traditional rulers in the country’s administration if elected president, stressed that their involvement was critical to the country’s growth and tackling its difficulties.
The Bishop of the Koforidua Diocese of the Anglican Church, Rt Rev. Felix Annancy, speaking on behalf of his colleagues, stated that as men of God, they would listen carefully to politicians in order to understand their vision and support the candidate of their choice.
“We will make up our minds to take a decision for the direction in which we want our country to be governed and we can only do that after listening to the political leaders to know their plans and visions for the country which needs to be transformed,” Rt Rev. Annancy stated.
Market women
Mr Kyerematen then spoke with market women from Koforidua Central Market, Agartha Market, Juaben Serwaa Market, and drivers at the Koforidua taxi stand. He guaranteed the market women that the Koforidua Central Market will be rebuilt with all of the essential facilities, including a bank.
He stated that the bank would provide women with soft loans at the lowest possible interest rates in order to enhance their trading activity.
