Bodø/Glimt Stun Inter Milan to Complete Historic UCL Double

In one of the most remarkable upsets in recent Champions League history, Bodo/Glimt have completed a stunning double over Inter Milan to knock the Italian giants out of the 2025–26 UEFA Champions League playoffs and also book their place in the Round of 16 for the first time ever in the club’s history.
Bodø/Glimt defeated one of Italy’s top clubs in both legs of the match by displaying quality, self-assurance, and discipline. Inter Milan exited the UEFA Champions League earlier than expected, while the Norwegian team advanced to the next stage following their decisive first-leg victory in Norway, Bodo/Glimt defeated Inter 2-1 on Tuesday night at Milan’s famed Stadio Giuseppe Meazza to complete a 5–2 aggregate victory.
In the 58th minute, a defensive error from Inter Milan center back Manuel Akanji awarded Bodo/Glimt their first goal through Jens Hauge. Bodø/Glimt later scored their second goal after a well-worked counterattack. Alessandro Bastoni pulled one back for the Italian giants in the 76th minute but was not enough to see Inter Milan sail through to the round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League.

Inter Milan started the second leg very well at the San Siro, enjoying more of the possession and creating a lot of chances, but they could not utilize the chances created into goals because of Bodo/Glimt’s compactness in defense.
In the second half of the game, Bodo/Glimt were calm and clinical when opportunities came, leading to them scoring 2 goals in the second half.
The double over Inter Milan, last season’s Champions League finalists, stands out as the biggest shock of Bodø/Glimt’s remarkable run this season. The Norwegian side have already recorded memorable victories against stronger sides; Manchester City at home and Atlético Madrid at the Metropolitano.
Bodø/Glimt now await their Round of 16 opponent, with Sporting CP or Manchester City set to face them next.
